Education & Professional Journey

Dr. Laiza earned her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Arizona — Bear Down Arizona! — before completing dental school at Universidad Rosaritense in the charming coastal town of Playas de Rosarito, Baja California.

Her education and life experiences on both sides of the border shaped her understanding of medical tourism and the importance of trust, transparency, and ethical care.

A Life Rooted in Family, Community & Service

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Laiza is a proud mom of two — Valentina and Rocky.

Together with her husband, Sean, she co-owns Yuma Aqua Academy, where they teach swim lessons to children and provide private instruction for children on the Autism Spectrum. Their son Rocky is autistic, and he inspired their mission to make water safety and swim education accessible and inclusive for the Yuma community.

Dr. Laiza and Sean also coach a local swim team, the Yuma Krakens, where their daughter Valentina is a dedicated and competitive swimmer. Coaching and mentoring children has reinforced Dr. Laiza’s belief in patience, communication, and individualized care — values she brings into her dental practice every day.
